The Shellac Manicure

Last week my BCFAFF {best chick-fil-a friend forever. too much?} Jessica and I got shellac manicures. Have you heard of these things? It’s relatively new {I think…} and it’s a manicure that stays on for 2 weeks. Essentially they do the “gel” part of what they do to women who get artificial nails, but without actually adding on the artificial nail part. If that makes sense.

I am notorious for getting a manicure and chipping the polish less than 24 hours later. Jessica is notorious for getting a manicure and chipping the polish while she’s still at the salon. Needless to say, we were pretty excited to try out something that would last two full weeks.

Here we are living it up downtown, acting like we rule the world, the night after we got the manicures.  See our nails? Let me try to zoom in on them.

Umm, yea, that didn’t really work. Trust me, they looked good.

Here are my nails after 8 days. Pretty impressive if you ask me.  Sure my fingers could use a good scrubbing, but the polish looks great. No chips at all, which is MUCH more than I can say for any manicure I’ve had before. So far the only negative thing is that because my polish typically chips so quickly, I’m not used to having the same color on my nails for so many days. I kind of want to change it but then realize that goes against the point of the shellac manicure. Darn it all.

Have a great Wednesday, folks!
